Design in Colombia
Upon visiting Colombia in 2014, I learned that Colombia is the #1 textile exporter in the world. When I traveled to Paris in 2011, styles I saw there would be big in the US about three months after the fact. This was also true in Colombia. While French style was simple, stark, and gothic, Colombian style was exploding with color and shape. I sincerely enjoyed it. I did get the chance to see a lot of architecture and art, which was also really inspiring. The experience was eye-opening and will certainly affect my design. I am grateful I have had access and resources to travel and gain design inspiration from people and cultures outside of myself.
